Feb. 13, 2012, Harris Teeter Shop Manager Jon Car will present Holly Springs Elementary and Holly Grove Elementary every with a check for $ two,000 to support the schools in their commitment to education programs. The donation is in addition to the dollars the schools get from Harris Teeter by means of the companys Together in Education plan.

Harris Teeter Together in Education, comparable to the North Carolina Education Lottery, raises funds for education initiatives to enhance returns for education throughout North Carolina. The company chose to donate the $ four,000 retailer commission, received from the “massive winner” Money five ticket, which was sold at the South Park Village Harris Teeter.

Harris Teeter is proud to reinforce its commitment to education by donating its retailer commission to both Holly Springs and Holly Grove, said Danna Jones, communication specialist for Harris Teeter.

Retailer Manager Jon Carr will represent Harris Teeter throughout the check presentation, added Jones. More than the years, he has shown his commitment to each our company and the Holly Springs community, and we are pleased his store has this chance to give back to his shoppers and their kids.

Harris Teeter rolled out lottery ticket sales in its North Carolina retailers beginning fall 2010 right after effective implementation at 5 initial areas. In addition to the funds raised for education, the new technology supplied by the North Carolina Education Lottery machines led the organization to move forward and make the service available to its shoppers. The machines will not accept cash or dispense tickets until the buyer scans a drivers license or state-issued identification card to verify proper age to obtain a lottery ticket.

Considering that March 2006, the N.C. Education Lottery has raised more than $ two.two billion for education programs in the state. Harris Teeter received the $ four,000 incentive bonus for promoting the winning ticket for the Carolina Money 5 jackpot on Jan. 17, 2012.
